Cornelius, NC — [May 8, 2026] — The Girls Academy (GA), the leading youth development platform for girls’ soccer in the United States, is proud to officially unveil Inspire, the name for the GA’s new U11–U12 platform.
Originally announced earlier this month as part of the Girls Academy’s continued commitment to strengthening player development and expanding access across the youth landscape, Inspire represents a significant step forward in building a clear and intentional developmental pathway for female players from the earliest stages of their journey through the elite levels of the game.
Designed specifically for the U11 and U12 age groups, Inspire introduces players, coaches, and families to the Girls Academy environment through a development-first model focused on growth, opportunity, education, and long-term player development. The platform is intended to create greater alignment across the pathway while providing regionalized competition structures that prioritize player experience, appropriate competition, and manageable travel.
The launch of Inspire establishes a unified progression across the Girls Academy ecosystem:
Inspire → Aspire → Girls Academy
Together, the three levels represent a connected developmental model designed to support players throughout every stage of their growth within the game.
Inspire serves as an introductory platform centered around passion for the game, foundational development, and early exposure to the Girls Academy environment.
Aspire represents the next stage of development, where clubs and players continue to grow within a structured and competitive platform focused on advancement.
Girls Academy remains the league’s top-tier national platform for elite competition and player development at the U13–U19 age groups.
“The name Inspire reflects exactly what we believe this stage of development should represent,” said Girls Academy Commissioner Patricia Hughes. “At the youngest ages, our responsibility is to inspire a love for the game, inspire confidence, inspire growth, and inspire players to dream bigger within a positive developmental environment. The mission of the Girls Academy has always been centered around meaningful player development, and Inspire is an extension of that vision, creating opportunities for young players and clubs to experience an environment rooted in long-term growth, education, and the overall player experience.”
Alongside the name announcement, the Girls Academy also unveiled the official Inspire crest and visual identity, which will serve as the designated mark for all Inspire programming nationwide. The identity aligns with the broader Girls Academy pathway while maintaining a distinct and protected brand presence within the league structure.
The inaugural Inspire season will begin in 2026–27, with participating conferences and teams to be announced in the coming weeks. The Girls Academy continues to work collaboratively with conference leadership and clubs nationwide to develop regional structures that support player development while maintaining league standards, consistency, and flexibility across different markets.
Applications for the inaugural Inspire season remain open through May 15th, with continued interest and expansion discussions taking place across multiple regions of the country.
